Threaded flange-EN 1092-1:2007 Flange
Description
- 产品描述
-
Threaded flange is a critical connecting component in piping systems. It connects directly to pipes by thread‑on engagement without welding.
Core Functions
● Connection
It flexibly connects piping‑system components such as pipes, valves, pumps and vessels. Secured by bolts and nuts, it establishes firm joints between equipment and pipes and ensures the integrity of the medium flow path.
● Sealing
Matched with gaskets via sealing faces (types including RF, FF, etc.), it effectively prevents leakage of internal pipe fluids (liquid and gas), and meets sealing requirements for complex working conditions such as high‑pressure and corrosive‑medium services.
● Load‑bearing Support
As a rigid joint point of the piping system, it distributes pipe stress, reduces pipe vibration and deformation induced by medium pressure as well as thermal expansion and contraction, and improves the stability of the overall system.
● Convenient Maintenance
Installation and disassembly can be completed without welding, greatly lowering maintenance difficulty of piping systems. It applies to scenarios requiring frequent inspection and component replacement, such as valve commissioning and partial piping modification.Key Features and Application Scenarios
● Advantages
① Non‑welded joint avoids thermal‑stress damage caused by welding, and imposes low additional torque on pipe bodies (e.g. alloy‑steel pipes, thin‑wall pipes).
② High installation efficiency with no complex welding procedures. Suitable for sites with limited on‑site welding conditions, such as confined spaces and flammable‑explosive zones.
③ Flexible material options covering carbon steel, alloy steel, stainless steel (304 / 316 / 316L, etc.), duplex steel and others, adaptable to various corrosion, temperature and pressure service conditions.
● Limitations
① Relatively large flange thickness, resulting in higher overall cost than slip‑on flanges and butt‑weld flanges.
② Limited temperature adaptability. Not recommended for services with sharp temperature swings (frequent hot‑cold cycling) or operating temperatures outside the range of ‑45 ℃ ~ 260 ℃. Otherwise thermal stress may cause thread loosening and sealing failure.
● Typical Application Scenarios
① Petrochemical industry: Medium‑ and low‑pressure pipelines in refineries and chemical plants, especially branch lines requiring frequent maintenance.
② Power & energy industry: Auxiliary pipelines of thermal‑power plants, non‑critical fluid transmission systems for nuclear‑power facilities.
③ Municipal engineering: Local connection nodes for water‑supply‑drainage pipe networks and urban gas pipelines.
④ Shipbuilding: Marine engine pipelines and ballast‑water systems (corrosion‑resistant and anti‑vibration required).
⑤ Pharmaceutical & food industry: Sanitary‑grade fluid transmission pipelines (sanitary stainless‑steel threaded flanges are adopted to prevent welding‑induced contamination).Manufacturing Process For Flanges
